LinkedIn and Facebook are popular social networking sites. They allow people to connect with other people online whom they know, or want to learn more about. The primary difference between the two is based on the intended use of each site. LinkedIn profiles are designed for professional networking purposes, and are more business-oriented. LinkedIn focuses on creating business relationships with colleagues, peers, and future employers. It allows you to build a professional brand for yourself, while showcasing your skills and development. Facebook profiles are created for the purpose of connecting with family and friends. Facebook is more appropriately suited for socializing and building friendships. It is more intended for personal use. As a result, typically Facebook is utilized by people of all ages, where LinkedIn users are generally an older audience.
